I served in the United States Army for 12 year's including one deployment to OIF 09-10. Upon return to civilian life, I unexpectedly lost my job in July. After receiving an eviction notice within a few short weeks later, my family and I were unsure of our future. My back was against the wall. I prayed intensely about the situation.
Although I was working another job, and waiting for my new career to begin as a contractor with the FAA, my family and I continued to struggle. We wanted a hand up - not a hand out. I turned to the Veterans of Operation Iraqi/Enduring Freedom.
After explaining that I attempting to reach out to and was turned down by other organizations, VOIEF answered the clarion call to help us. Kurt Schwab, President of VOIEF came and helped us in our time of need by stepping in and taking care of our rent. My family and I are eternally grateful for the help we received.
If you are a Veteran who needs help, VOIEF would be glad to assist you.
Sincerely Robert G. Murrell, Jr.
